Love Is a Many Splendored Thing สร้างเป็นหนังเมื่อปี 1955 ถ่ายทำในฮ่องกงตั้งแต่ปี 1949-1950 เป็นเรื่องราวของรักข้ามพรมแดนระหว่างนักข่าวชาวอเมริกันที่นำแสดงโดย William Holden กับ ดร. ฮันซูหยิน แพทย์สาวลูกครึ่งที่ยังเคร่งครัดในขนบธรรมเนียมของบรรพบุรุษชาวจีน ซึ่งนำแสดงโดย Jennifer Jones
อุปสรรคเกี่ยวกับความต่างกันของประเพณี สมัยสงครามเกาหลีจึงเกิดขึ้น แต่ความรักให้อะไรๆที่มากเกินจะกล่าวบรรยาย Love Is a Many Splendored Thing เพลงนี้ทำดนตรีโดย Sammy Fain และเขียนเนื้อโดย Paul Francis Webster เพื่อใช้ประกอบหนังที่มีชื่อเดียวกับเพลงนี้ ในปี 1955 และได้รับรางวัลออสการ์สาขาดนตรีประกอบภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยมในปีนั้น
